Audio Clip from Mark Shriver’s A Good Man: Rediscovering My Father, Sargent Shriver

After blogging about Mark Shriver and his book A Good Man: Rediscovering My Father, Sargent Shriver,” I had the great fortune of hearing from his publisher Macmillan, who sent me a clip of Mark reading from the book himself! It’s great to have your blog noticed!

In addition to hardcover, the book is available on audiobook from Macmillan which can be purchased on their site here.

When I listened to the clip and heard Mark reading the part about his son and the dishes and his remembrance of his dad, you hear the slight crack in his voice and if you had a loved one who suffered from Alzheimer’s you can’t help but think of one of those “today” instances in your life that took you back to a memory.

Thank you Macmillan for finding me!

And now for the audio clip of Mark Shriver:

Suggested Books for Caregivers

I recently bought 2 books that provide information for Caregiver’s. The funny thing is, being so busy as a CG, when will I have time to read them, LOL.

The ones I purchased are “The 36 hour Day” (which was recommended to me) and “Alzheimer’s A Caregiver’s Guide and Source Book.” I decided to start with chapters in “The 36…” and with both books, I’m starting with tips and advice I can use now on how to manage on a day-to-day basis.

Suggested reads:

  • The 36 Hour Day
  • Alzheimer’s from the Inside Out
  • Alzheimer’s A Caregiver’s Guide and Sourcebook
  • 300 Tips for Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Alzheimer’s Action Plan
